For the thesis paper, I will start by building upon the research I conducted in the previous semester, incorporating literature review of papers and books that inspire my work. The main topics include AI biases, ethical AI framework, and design research approach. I will then draw connections from the research I did to the project I’m currently doing for thesis.

The main chapters of my thesis will be structured to explore the intersection of art and AI, beginning with an examination of “Form and Context.” Here, I will analyze previous immersive and interactive exhibits that have served as inspiration for my project, “AI Through Your Lens.” Through this exploration, I aim to contextualize my own work within existing artistic and technological applications. Another aspect of the paper will be the review of my design process — ideation, prototyping, evaluation, and iteration. I will end the paper with reflection and how this work contribute to the world of art and AI.

Anticipated challenges in the coming weeks include synthesizing theories and concepts of AI ethics and connecting them to my art project, “AI Through Your Lens,” with comprehensible language to ensure that the paper’s audience could understand my goal for this thesis project, which is to explore people’s view toward AI and raise question about AI biases/stereotypes. I think having feedback sessions with peers and faculty advisors will be invaluable in navigating these challenges.
