Reflection for the Demo Day
My expectations for the Demo Day showcase were having audience immerse themselves in the projection-based arts and encouraging the audience to reflect on how AI is viewed through AI imaginaries.
The feedback I received helps me discover the flaws that could impact and interrupt the experience of the audience. For the moving texts, the issue arises when the texts move off of screen edges. To address this, I plan to rethink how I would like to show the text-based visualization, to make it more meaningful and easy to read. From the instructors’ feedback, Camila introduced me to Es Devlin’s work, The Poem Pavilion, which is a social sculpture that gather words from the visitors.

For the remainder of the semester, I will focus on improving the immersive experience and the visualizations. Since I found limitations with the showcase room and the projectors that could be used, I need to find the best way to work with constraints to show both text-based and AI-generated visualizations efficiently.
Key areas that need improvement:
Space
- To do: Work with Sam and Todd to finalize which room and the type of projectors that could be used for final showcase.
- To do: Find sound that suits the theme of AI imaginaries better to enhance the experience.
- To do: Fix overlapping texts and texts moving off of edges.
- To do: Make it updated real-time.
