Sketch & Prototyping
During the first class of Thesis, I presented my proposal and received feedback from the class. My past relationship with feedback is that it always help me find the way to improve my work. Either it’s a critique from the class on my project or the feedback I got from the team I worked with during my design internship, those feedback points out what my work lacks and how I could make it better.
My main takeaway from the first week’s feedback was to think more deeply about what I want to convey and how the story should be told. Therefore, for this week, I decided to go back and look at the results and data I got from the Research Methods class for inspirations.

I also reflected on my own experiences with interactive installations, especially on how those works could draw me into the story that the artists want to tell. I found that I mostly enjoy things I could relate to or something I know about. So I decided to add a video art about AI, using the data I got from the Research Methods, before letting the audience interact with the story.

My idea is to have two projection-based arts in the immersive space, which include 1) the pre-made video to tell the story of women’s perception on AI, using data from my Research Methods’ project, play in loop; and 2) the data visualizations of AI imaginaries from the audience, playing real-time via TouchDesigner. This week I started working on the first part, the pre-made video.

For this week’s class:
At this stage, I’m looking for feedback on the experience design.
- How do you think about the sequences: having the audience watch pre-made video → typing in their AI imaginary → seeing the real-time data visualizations of AI imaginaries?
- Do you think the pre-made video would enhance the experience?
- Is there any comment on my first prototype of the video?
